Regardless of the type of insulation used, the insulation quality of any garage door also depends on the airtightness of the section joints. After improving the isolation process, the problem of infiltration at the joints had to be addressed.

Cedo's Research and Development departement designed and patented a tongue-and-groove joint with thermal breaks at three separate locations in order to prevent infiltration and ensure a maximum level of sealing.

This tongue-and-groove joint quickly became very popular with industry professionals, especially installers because of their quick and easy installation. Since they fit perfectly in each others, only one person is needed to install, instead of the usual team of two. In addition, weather-stripping is integrated and guaranteed for life (inter-section joints only). Needless to say, with all these advantages, tongue-and-groove section joints are an unmatched thermal break.
